Amanda and the rest of her family were in Estes Park on a week long trip this winter and decided to do some family photos. Off we went toward many of my favorite places in Rocky Mountain National Park, in and around Horseshoe Park just a few minutes from the park entrance.
I love this place — huge aspen groves, a beautiful river and a great view of Ypsilon Mountain in the background. Kind of crazy that this area was once covered by a 500 foot thick glacier!
You can see in the photos that winter isn’t always cold and snowy — we still get bright sunny days in Estes all year long, though horseshoe Park isn’t too high up in elevation.
Anyway, here are a few faves from our afternoon.
